Job summary

Waitaki Boys' High School in Oamaru is seeking a Certificated teacher for a Hard Materials Technology role for the 2027 school year. You will teach across Years 9–13, including senior NCEA classes, with a strong hands-on focus in our well-resourced workshop and a passion for developing young men.

Experience in design thinking, engineering & construction principles, and CAD/CAM tools will help you engage students and foster creativity in a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Experience with design thinking and engineering & construction principles.
• A rapport-builder who can develop strong relationships as effectively as you can design a product.
• A suitably qualified teacher with a strong pedagogy and passion for developing young men.
• Able to maintain a safe environment to operate machinery & hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Teach hard materials technology across Years 9-13, including senior NCEA classes.
