Job summary

Waitaki Boys' High School in Oamaru is seeking a Certificated teacher to lead hard materials technology for Years 9-13, including senior NCEA classes. The role focuses on continuing hands-on learning in our well-resourced workshop, fostering creativity and craftsmanship among students who are eager to design and build.

The successful candidate will bring knowledge of CAD/CAM and digital design tools, a strong pedagogy, and the ability to maintain a safe environment for machinery and hand tools.

• A rapport-builder who can develop strong relationships as effectively as you can design a product.
• A suitably qualified teacher with a strong pedagogy and passion for developing young men.

About the role

You will be teaching hard materials technology across Years 9-13, including senior NCEA classes to capable young men. This role isfocused on continuing the strong hands-on learning experiences thatfoster creativity and craftsmanshipin ourwell-resourced workshop. Ourstudents are keen to learn,designand put their practicalskills togood use.Experience in any of the following areas is beneficial:

• Product Design, Wood and/or Metal Technology
• Construction and Building / Engineering
• CAD/CAM and digital design tools
