Job summary

Sime Motors in Auckland's North Shore is seeking an experienced Technician to join the busy BMW workshop. You will service, maintain and repair vehicles to BMW standards using Genuine BMW parts and the latest diagnostic equipment, including EV/Hybrid systems.

The role involves a 7am-6pm weekday schedule with rostered Saturdays. You will work with a team of factory-trained technicians and report to the service foreman. A Level 4 Automotive Certificate or 3+ years' experience is required.

Qualifications

• Level 4 Automotive Certificate or 3+ years relevant experience.
• Ideally WOF certified.
• Strong mechanical and electronic diagnostic skills.
• Good computer and communication abilities.
• Attention to detail and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair vehicles to BMW and company standards.
• Perform electrical and mechanical repairs including EV/Hybrid work.
• Utilise BMW diagnostic equipment and genuine parts.
• Inspect vehicles and support WOF certification processes.
• Keep service foreman informed of cost overruns and delays.

The role

Our Wairau Valley Service Centre is looking for anexperienced Technician to join their busy workshop. With the use latest diagnostic technology, you are to ensure BMW vehicles are kept in top condition with only Genuine BMW parts and diagnostic equipment. You will be working closely with a team of factory trained technicians, and a foreman for support.

Hours between 7am - 6pm Monday to Friday, with a rostered Saturday 1 in 4 from 9am - 1pm.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Vehicles are serviced,maintained, and repaired to BMW and company standards

• Electrical and mechanical repairs, including suspension, steering, brakes, wheel bearings, driveshafts, exhausts and air conditioning servicing as per customer's requests

• Repairs and maintenance on EV and Hybrid vehicles such as the use of electronic diagnostic equipment, focusing on areas such as batteries, drive motor, auxiliary drive pack & control systems

• May inspect vehicles and issue WOF certificates or detail worksrequiredto obtain WOF certificate

• Ensure the serviceforeman/manager are advised of all cost overruns and delays in time to allow contact to be made with the customers

• Support the other technicians in the team withdifficult work

To be successful in this role, you must:

• Have a Level 4 Automotive Certificate orat least 3+ years of relevant experience

• Ideally be WOF certified

• Possess strong mechanical skills and electronic diagnostic experience

• Have a high levelof computer and communication skills

• Have a strongattention to detail

• Deliver a positive attitude and strong work ethic
