Job summary

Daikin in Auckland is seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer to join the team, bridging sales, projects, commissioning and service with hands‑on technical expertise in HVAC, electrical controls and automation. You will become the vital link between Daikin, its customers and internal teams, travelling 1–2 nights per week to support sites and installations.

You should bring solid experience in commercial HVAC or electrical/controls environments and be comfortable presenting solutions to customers

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to diagnose faults and propose practical technical solutions.

• Experience working across sales, projects, commissioning and service environments.
• Minimum 5 years' working experience in NZ with HVAC/electrical controls or automation.

Technical Solutions Engineer - HVAC, Electrical & Automation

Whether your background is in commercial HVAC, electrical controls or industrial automation, this is your opportunity to expand your expertise, work across complete technical solutions and become the vital link between Daikin, its customers and its internal teams.

This isn't a narrow engineering role. You'll work across Sales, Projects, Commissioning and Service, helping take solutions from sale through to successful commissioning, handover and ongoing support.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting projects through delivery, commissioning and handover
• Diagnosing faults and finding practical technical solutions
• Assisting customers, contractors, Sales, Projects and Service teams
• Building expertise across Daikin HVAC equipment and control technologies
• Supporting warranty investigations, inspections and technical documentation
• Sharing your knowledge with less-experienced technical team members

About you

You're technically strong, but you're also a genuine people person. You enjoy meeting customers, understanding their challenges and finding practical solutions as situations develop.

Comfortable joining client and sales meetings, you can build rapport quickly, ask the right questions and explain complex technical information in a clear and engaging way. You're just as confident working alongside engineers and contractors as you are presenting a solution to a customer.

Crucially, you'll bring solid knowledge from either the commercial HVAC industry or an electrical, controls or industrial automation environment, and will have at minimum 5 years working experience within NZ. This technical foundation is essential as it will allow you to understand the equipment, investigate faults and recommend solutions with confidence.

You’ll also need the flexibility to travel and spend approximately one to two nights away from home each week.
