Job summary

NZ Safety Blackwoods is seeking a driven Business Development Specialist to join the APC Technical Solutions team, supporting an established customer base across the Lower North Island. The role focuses on growing relationships and identifying new opportunities for sustainable growth.

Ideal candidates will have five+ years in technical sales or account management, with experience in Gas Detection or Flow Control, and strong consultative selling and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience in technical sales or account management.
• Experience in Gas Detection or Flow Control is required.
• Strong consultative selling and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Highly organised, proactive and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and margin growth across the Lower North Island region.
• Manage and grow an established customer base, ensuring continuity of service.
• Provide technical support and collaborate with internal teams on joint calls.
• Coach non-technical teams to improve lead generation.
• Develop and execute action plans to achieve sales targets.
• Lead RFPs, contract negotiations, and customer presentations.
• Identify customer needs and deliver tailored technical solutions.
• Maintain CRM accuracy and actively manage the sales pipeline.
• Work in line with company policies and safety standards.
