Job summary

FindIT Recruitment – Auckland, North Island, is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to join the Technology team in Auckland. You will be the technical anchor for a squad of 4-6 engineers, responsible for architectural integrity, mentoring and coordinating AI-assisted development.

In this hands-on role you will design, build and ship production software, review code, set standards, and act as the Product Owner's technical advisor. Prior experience in regulated industries is a plus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven software architecture capability under delivery pressure.
• Experience orchestrating AI coding agents and assistants.
• Expert-level debugging and root-cause analysis.
• Strong cloud platform knowledge (AWS, Azure, Cloudflare).
• Mentoring and growing intermediate and junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and technical design of squad deliverables.
• Define and maintain the squad's definition of done and quality gates.
• Maintain engineering standards through reviews and pairing.
• Direct AI coding agents across the delivery spectrum.
• Design, build and ship production code with the squad.
• Lead root-cause analysis of defects and incidents.
• Mentor intermediate and junior engineers through pairing.
