Job summary

PGG Wrightson in Whangarei is seeking a Technical Field Representative to deliver technical and sales advice to existing clients and pursue new opportunities across the Whangarei region. You will work with the store team and wider business, sharing knowledge and providing practical sales support, with travel across the region.

Applicants should have in-depth knowledge of NZ rural sector, dairy, sheep and beef farming, strong communication, and a current NZ driver’s licence.

We are seeking a Technical Field Representative (TFR) for the Whangarei region.

About the role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Field Representative working with the Whangarei team. This role involves travelling throughout the Whangarei providing technical and sales advice on farm to existing clients and recognising and pursuing new opportunities. You'll also work alongside, the local store team and the wider business by sharing knowledge and offering technical and practical sales support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identify client needs and provide sound and accurate product and farming advice
• Build farm systems solutions alongside client farming practices
• Communicate new technologies and technical knowledge to clients
• Be readily available to clients as a source of technical knowledge and information and complete requests in line with PGG Wrightson's service standards
• Assist clients, colleagues and suppliers to answer queries and resolve problems

Skills, qualifications and experience:

• Proven extensive knowledge of the New Zealand rural sector is essential
• Develop and demonstrable understanding of current dairy, sheep and beef farming practices
• Confidence and expertise to develop new business
• Sales focused and driven
• Outstanding organisation and team building skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reasonable fitness as some heavy lifting and physical work is required
• Full, current and clean New Zealand driver licence
