Job summary

PGG Wrightson in Hawke's Bay seeks an experienced Agri Sales Professional to drive relationships with sheep, beef and arable clients, primarily on the road. You'll join a tight-knit team and be the technical resource for farmers.

You'll collaborate with store teams and specialist groups to deliver on-farm advice and identify new business opportunities. A current NZ driver's licence and fit-for-field work are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge of the New Zealand rural sector.
• Ability to develop new business and opportunities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel and work in field conditions.
• Full, current NZ driver's licence.

• Identify and pursue new client and business opportunities – get up driveways, existing and new (this role comes with an existing book, which you’ll be excited to grow)
• Communicate new product and technical knowledge to clients.

An exciting opportunity is on the table to join our Hawkes Bay team!

We have an exciting move into a fit-for-purpose site which will house both Rural Supplies and Fruitfed Supplies Stores, alongside all other PGW divisions, and be the home base for our rep team - although you'll spend a large portion of your time on the road with your clients.

We’re looking for an experienced Agri Sales Professional out on the road, part of a tight-knit community that values relationships, innovation, and getting the job done right (internally known as a Technical Field Rep).

Sheep and beef will be an area you know and understand like the back of your hand. Our specialist technical teams will support you to deliver trusted, practical on-farm technical advice and innovative solutions to clients, while spotting new opportunities to support our valued clients along the way.

You won’t be flying solo; you’ll be part of an experienced team, supported by the local store team and our wider business, sharing knowledge and rolling up your sleeves to provide real-world solutions that make a real difference on farm.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Skills, qualifications and experience:

• Proven extensive knowledge of the New Zealand rural sector is essential
• Develop and demonstrate understanding of current arable, sheep and beef farming practices
• Confidence and expertise to develop new business
• Outstanding organisation and team building skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reasonable fitness, as some heavy lifting and physical work is required
• Full, current and clean New Zealand driver's licence
