Job summary

ACC is seeking a Technical Design Lead within the Technical Integration and Process Engineering team. You will bridge high-level solution architecture with detailed designs for integration engineers, working across Agile Release Trains with business analysts, product owners, developers and testers.

The role offers flexibility and can be based in Wellington or other ACC hubs across New Zealand. You will lead design decisions, ensure security/privacy standards, and mentor engineers while

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in solution or technical architecture.
• Proven track record delivering end-to-end platform solutions.
• Experience leading multi-team design decisions on large initiatives.
• Experience with agile/DevOps delivery (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and modelling standards.
• Ability to embed secure-by-design and privacy-by-design principles.

Responsibilities

• Shaping and prioritising the design backlog with Product Owners and senior stakeholders.
• Defining solution architecture and artefacts that meet strategy and standards.
• Maintaining the architecture runway and design guardrails for continuous delivery.
• Providing hands-on design support to squads during build, test and release.
• Overseeing run time health, release assessments, security and privacy checks.
• Championing cloud cost transparency and optimisation with Finance.
• Growing engineering capability through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
