Job summary

Morrinsville Intermediate invites an enthusiastic and effective leader to join us as Syndicate Leader for Years 1–8, on a fixed-term basis from 27/01/2027 to 28/01/2028. The successful candidate will lead teaching teams and model high-quality practice in a supportive, student-centered environment.

You will work with the senior leadership team to implement strategic initiatives, coach teachers, and foster partnerships with whānau.

Qualifications

• Experience leading junior to middle school teams.
• Coaching and mentoring teachers to foster collaborative culture.
• Commitment to inclusive learning environments.
• Proven ability to implement strategic initiatives.
• Understanding Te Tiriti o Waitangi in school practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of teachers to foster a collaborative, positive, and empowering learning environment.
• Form positive, nurturing and inclusive learning-focused relationships and environments with emerging adolescents.
• Model effective practices in teaching, learning and leadership within the school.
• Work with senior leadership to implement strategic initiatives.
• Coach and mentor teachers in delivering high-quality and responsive teaching practices.
• Collaborate with whānau, students and staff to improve student learning outcomes and wellbeing.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of a culturally responsive curriculum reflecting community needs.
• Support Teaching as Inquiry to grow practice and improve learning outcomes for tamariki.

• Contributing to the ongoing development of a culturally responsive curriculum that reflects the needs and aspirations of our community
• The ‘Teaching as Inquiry’ process to grow your practice and improve/accelerate learning outcomes for tamariki
• Being willing to give discretionary commitment to the school
• Demonstrating commitment to upholding the vision, motto and values of our school along with enacting the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Primary Teachers C ollective Agreement . The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range depending on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.
