Job summary

Auckland Council is seeking a Team Leader Learn to Swim and Customer Support at Birkenhead Pool and Leisure Centre in Auckland. You will lead two portfolios—Learn to Swim programmes and front-line customer support—ensuring safe, welcoming experiences for customers, whānau and the community.

You will work with the Centre Manager and leadership team to plan and deliver high-quality services, develop staff, and drive performance improvements across both functions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated Learn to Swim experience with programme delivery and quality outcomes
• Proven leadership of teams and delivery of services
• Ability to translate strategy into practical operational initiatives

Responsibilities

• Lead Learn to Swim and Customer Support teams, coaching and developing staff
• Oversee high-quality delivery of Learn to Swim programmes
• Coordinate staffing and service delivery across both functions
• Monitor service quality, participation and customer feedback; drive improvements
• Build relationships with customers, schools, community groups and stakeholders
• Contribute to centre performance and financial outcomes
