Job summary

Auckland Council is seeking a part-time Learn to Swim Instructor at Takapuna Pool and Leisure Centre. The role involves teaching swimming skills in a safe, welcoming setting with a strong focus on customer service and community engagement.

You’ll join a supportive team, complete two weeks of training, and enjoy free access to centre facilities while contributing to a culture of inclusion and well-being across Auckland.

Qualifications

• Must be a confident swimmer with strong in-water ability.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Passion for teaching and engaging a diverse community.
• Willingness to complete First Aid training (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Teach swimming skills in a safe, fun environment.
• Engage with participants from diverse backgrounds and communities.
• Attend the two‑week training program (Mon–Fri 8:00–16:00).
