Job summary

NZ Transport Agency (Waka Kotahi) seeks a seasoned leader to head the Environmental Planning team. You will guide a group of planners, shape planning and consenting outcomes, and collaborate with iwi, local authorities and industry partners to deliver value across national transport projects.

You will provide strategic leadership on environmental planning, navigate complex statutory processes, and represent NZTA in regional and national forums, helping shape NZ’s transport future.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
• Extensive experience in environmental / resource management planning or related statutory processes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
