Job summary

The New Zealand Government's NZTA is seeking a Team Lead Environmental Planning to manage a team of environmental planning professionals and ensure planning excellence across the project lifecycle.

You will provide strategic leadership, coach staff, and collaborate with iwi, local authorities and agencies to influence consenting outcomes and deliver transport infrastructure that creates lasting value for New Zealand, aligning with national policies and regulatory requirements across multiple

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
• Extensive experience in environmental / resource management planning or related statutory processes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• Knowledge of planning legislation, policy and transport decision-making processes.
• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing team of environmental planning professionals and provide technical leadership.
• Influence planning and consenting outcomes across transport projects throughout the lifecycle.
• Collaborate with iwi, local authorities, government agencies and industry partners to support transport outcomes.
• Represent NZTA in regional and national forums and provide strategic leadership on environmental planning practice.
