Job summary

Real in Rotorua seeks a capable leader to inspire and manage a skilled team delivering mental health support to taiohi aged 12-24. This full-time role involves coordinating community-based care, optimizing resources and fostering collaborative partnerships with Health NZ/Te Whatu Ora and whānau.

You will coach staff, oversee recruitment and professional development, and contribute to service growth while working 8:30am–5pm, Monday to Friday, with on-call duties.

Qualifications

  • HPCA regulated health practitioner with current APC.
  • Experience in mental health, AOD, disability, health care or social services.
  • Demonstrated leadership with ability to support and inspire a team.
  • Ability to collaborate with Health NZ/Te Whatu Ora and youth sector.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate taiohi care with exceptional support in community settings.
  • Foster innovation and improve service efficiency and use of resources.
  • Lead and coach staff, recruitment, development and performance management.
  • Report to the Service and Relationship Manager and receive coaching.
  • Develop and grow services to meet community needs.
  • Build strong inter-sector networks and partnerships.

Job description

The role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating taiohi care so that they receive exceptional support in our community settings
  • Support the efficient and effective use of resources for the team while fostering innovation and improvement of service
  • Lead and support staff, including regular individual coaching to your team, recruitment, professional development and performance management to support the team to exceed their personal best in everything they do
  • You’ll be reporting to the Service and Relationship Manager and receive the same coaching and support to achieve great mahi together
  • Develop and grow our services to meet emerging community needs
  • Grow strong and collaborative inter sector networks and partnerships

This is a full-time, permanent role, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm and be part of an on-call roster. The role is based in Rotorua.

About You | Mōu:

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the wellbeing of our taiohi and their whānau who are navigating mental health challenges.

  • HPCA regulated health practitioner, registered with a current APC (Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social worker, DAPANZ or other)
  • Relevant work experience in mental health, AOD, disability, health care and/or social services
  • Experienced leader who can support, manage and inspire a team. Advantage given to those with management experience
  • You’ll ideally have demonstrated the ability to work well with other services such as Health New Zealand/Te whatu ora, PHOs, and the wider youth community and social sector
Skills and Experience | Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako
  • Relevant experience in leadership and managing others
  • A relevant qualification in leadership, management or a clinical qualification
  • HPCA Clinical Registration
  • Lead by example in wellbeing and leadership
  • Full, clean NZ Driver Licence
