Job summary

Tikipunga Primary School invites applications from enthusiastic kaiako to join our team for the start of 2027. We seek warm, collaborative educators who value student wellbeing, strong relationships, and a sense of humour.

You will contribute to literacy and numeracy development, work within a structured literacy and maths framework, and honour Te Tiriti in daily life. Salary will be set per the Primary Teachers Collective Agreement based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• Experience or willingness to work with structured literacy.
• Experience or willingness to work with structured maths.
• Strong classroom management to support wellbeing and student relationships.
• Ability to collaborate and contribute to a supportive school culture and Te Reo Māori integration.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging literacy and numeracy lessons for Years 1–8.
• Collaborate with kaiako and support staff in planning and assessment.
• Foster positive relationships to support student wellbeing and success.
• Incorporate Te Tiriti o Waitangi and kura values into daily practice.

Tikipunga Primary School is seeking 3 enthusiastic and future-focused kaiako to join our team from the beginning of 2027.

We are looking for effective classroom practitioners wanting to develop their skills in a well-resourced, collaborative and supportive school environment. We are looking for staff who are warm, caring, are positive and have a sense of humour.

To become part of our team, you will need strengths and knowledge in literacy and numeracy - with experience, or willingness to work with the structured literacy and structured maths operating within our kura. You will need excellent classroom management skills that strengthen positive relationships for student wellbeing and success.

We are looking for those who can work collaboratively and honour Te Tiriti, with experience and knowledge of weavingMātauranga Māori and school values into everyday school life.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Primary Teachers Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range depending on applicant’s qualifications and experience. Individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
