Teacher - Auckland West Unit (Henderson)

• Three positions available –permanent, 0.8FTTE or full-time.
• This position is also being advertised in primary/intermediate (Years 1-8) section.

We invite applications from experienced and fully registered teachers with strong knowledge of the New Zealand curriculum.

We are looking for experience teaching at different year levels and a willingness to teach other year levels across a range of subject areas. An ability to speak Te Reo Māori and/or local iwi or Tangata Pasifika connections valued but not essential.

Northern Health School is a Ministry of Education-funded school. Weprovide education and transition support for Year 0-14 students whose health impacts their ability to attend school fulltime.

Permanent teachers at our school are eligible for a health school management unit, a special duties allowance and a high-priority teachers’ allowance.

School management and administration is predominantly based in Auckland with school units in centres throughout the north island from Kaitaia to Gisborne, Taupo and Taranaki.

Teachers work with students across a spectrum of years and subjects on either an individual basis or in small groups. Depending on the health and education needs of the student, a teacher may provide the whole education programme;an education programme in association with the student’s regular school or a programme in association with Te Aho O Te Kura Pounamu (The Correspondence School).
