Job description

At Oceania, we're passionate about creating exceptional experiences for our residents, and it all starts with your people. As our Talent Acquisition Advisor, you'll help us find and welcome the people who make that possible. Reporting to our Talent Acquisition Partner, you'll provide proactive recruitment support, build trusted relationships with hiring managers and help deliver a seamless experience for every candidate.

We're looking for a proactive, people-focused superstar to join our People & Culture team on a six-month fixed-term, full-time contract, based at our Auckland CBD Support Office.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves making things happen, thrives on building relationships and enjoys finding ways to make things easier for others.

What you'll be doing

You'll be right at the heart of our recruitment function, helping us deliver a seamless, engaging and efficient experience for our candidates and hiring managers across New Zealand.

No two days will look quite the same! You’ll be:

  • Making recruitment happen – keeping vacancies moving, coordinating recruitment activity and providing hands‑on support to our hiring managers.
  • Creating great candidate experiences – guiding candidates through pre‑employment checks, employment agreements and the journey towards joining Oceania.
  • Being the go‑to person – managing recruitment queries, solving problems and building trusted relationships with our teams.
  • Finding great people – supporting advertising, shortlisting and building talent pools to connect the right people with the right opportunities.
  • Keeping things running smoothly – maintaining our recruitment system, Teamtailor, and ensuring our processes, records and data are accurate and up to date.
  • Helping us find better ways – sharing ideas, supporting managers with recruitment guidance and contributing to improvements in how we attract and hire talent.
What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who brings more than recruitment experience. You'll be someone who genuinely cares about people, takes pride in delivering great work and brings a proactive, solutions-focused approach to everything you do.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Around 2+ years' experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, ideally in a busy, high-volume environment.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset - you're someone who sees what needs doing and makes it happen.
  • A natural ability to build trust and relationships with people at all levels.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle competing priorities.
  • A warm, engaging communication style and a genuine commitment to candidate care.
  • Confidence using recruitment systems and technology (experience with Teamtailor would be a bonus!)
  • A willingness to share knowledge, support hiring managers and look for smarter ways of working.

What really sets you apart is your ability to connect with people, anticipate their needs and find practical solutions that make their lives easier.

Why join Oceania?

At Oceania, we're proud to be one of New Zealand's leading providers of retirement living and aged care. Across more than 30 villages, we support over 4,000 residents by creating communities where people feel at home, connected, and well cared for.

Our purpose is simple: to make a difference in every task, every challenge, every day. It's a purpose that's brought to life through the way we work:

  • We're one team – We collaborate across teams and functions because together we're stronger than any individual effort.

  • We're finding better ways – We challenge ourselves to think differently, find creative solutions, and continuously improve.

  • We're committed to care – We put safety and care at the centre of everything we do, creating environments where everyone feels supported.

  • We're proud to deliver – We follow through on our commitments because every task matters, and our residents and families count on us to get it right.

When you join Oceania, you'll become part of a supportive team where you'll be encouraged to learn, grow, and make a meaningful contribution every day.

  • Competitive pay
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities
  • Free and confidential wellbeing support
  • The chance to build a rewarding career with an organisation that's making a real difference.
