Job summary

OceanaGold Corporation is seeking a Dam Site Engineer for the Waihi North Project in New Zealand. The role focuses on on-site engineering, construction coordination and QA/QC for tailings storage facility works, with a long-term impact on mine life.

Residential role in Waihi with a 2-year fixed-term contract. Ideal candidates have a Mining/Geotechnical/Geological or Surveying degree and at least 5 years in mining, preferably in project environments.

Qualifications

• On-site engineering and QA/QC support for tailings storage facility construction.
• Coordinate contractors, field crews, surveyors, laboratories and suppliers.
• Verify works per drawings, specs, and inspection/test plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day site engineering and QA/QC support for tailings storage facility construction.
• Coordinate and witness field testing, material verification, and compaction testing.
• Maintain accurate site records including daily progress, inspections and test results.
• Assist with commissioning, handover and completion dossiers for governance and operations.
