OceanaGold is offering a residential role in Otago, NZ, a one-hour drive from Dunedin, with a Mon-Fri 9-day fortnight roster and an outdoors lifestyle. The position links Technical Services with Operations to deliver short and medium term mine plans for safe, efficient extraction of ore.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mine/Geotechnical engineering or Geology, plus 8+ years mining experience and leadership experience. Competitive salary, bonuses, and benefits are on offer.

• Experience leading and developing high-performing technical services teams.
• Proven capability to manage open pit mine planning and associated governance.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture within the technical services team.
• Lead and develop a high-performing Technical Services team through coaching and performance management.
• Provide leadership over short and medium term open pit mine planning activities.
• Ensure mine designs and schedules support safe, practical and economically optimized outcomes.
• Monitor budget, forecast and Life of Mine plans to identify risks and opportunities.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders, contractors and vendors for value delivery.
