Job summary

AECOM in Wellington is seeking a Director-level Manager to lead a 35‑strong Transmission & Distribution team. You will guide engineers, designers and delivery managers, shaping this role to fit your background while maintaining strong client relationships and a focus on project delivery.

Based in Wellington, you will report to NZ T&D Sector Lead, drive performance, development and recruitment, and collaborate across Australia and globally to deliver innovative energy infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an established team of engineers and designers.
• Experience in T&D design, delivery or client relationships in NZ.
• Commercially minded, client focused with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent time management across multi-discipline environments.
• Track record working with remote teams including in Australia.
• Strong client relationships and trusted advisory skills.
• Leadership, mentoring and high-performing team development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead a broad team of electrical engineers, designers and delivery managers.
• Provide leadership, guidance and direction for the team and future work pipeline.
• Shape the role to align with your background and expertise.
• Collaborate with NZ, Australia and global peers within T&D.
• Manage client relationships, delivery KPIs and commercial outcomes.
