Job summary

Allient New Zealand in Christchurch is seeking a enthusiastic Systems Engineer T1 (Grad) to join our Mobility Assistance team on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover. Based at the Christchurch Head Office, you will work under the Project Delivery Manager, ideally holding a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.

You will gain exposure to product development in electronics and cloud/web/mobile apps, participate in verification and validation, risk assessment, and design and build test

Qualifications

• Degree in Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering.
• Interest in systems engineering and product development.
• Curious, analytical and enjoys solving technical problems.
• Communicates clearly and works collaboratively.
• Organised, eager to learn and takes ownership of work.
• Exposure to electronics, embedded software, mobile apps or cloud tech is advantageous.
• Familiarity with verification/validation or regulated product development is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of system requirements, specifications and traceability documentation.
• Assist with identifying and documenting technical, safety and privacy-related risks.
• Contribute to verification and validation activities, including preparing test cases, executing tests and documenting results.
• Assist with designing and building hardware and software test solutions for manual and automated testing.
• Support system design activities and contribute to estimation and sprint planning with guidance from senior engineers.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation in accordance with our Quality Management System.
• Work collaboratively with software, electronics, mechanical and quality teams to deliver high-quality products.
• Learn and apply medical device development processes, standards and regulatory requirements.

Allient New Zealand (formerly Dynamic Controls) is looking for an enthusiastic Systems Engineer T1 (Grad) to join our Mobility Assistance team on a 12-month fixed term role (maternity cover). Based in the Christchurch Head Office and reporting to the Project Delivery Manager, you will ideally hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline. Knowledge/experience in product development, particularly in the electronics and cloud/web/mobile app spaces, would be an advantage, as would experience in product verification and validation, and familiarity with regulatory standards for medical devices and data privacy. Recent graduates are welcome to apply.
