Job summary

Whakarongorau Aotearoa is seeking a Systems Analyst to support the National Cervical Screening Programme by ensuring the NCSP-R remains accurate and fit for purpose. You will analyze data, investigate issues, and drive improvements across data integrity and reporting to inform programme decisions.

You will collaborate with health system stakeholders, manage data quality initiatives, and contribute to better health outcomes for communities across Aotearoa.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accuracy, integrity, and reliability of NCSP-R information.
  • Conduct data validation, reconciliation, monitoring, and quality assurance activities.
  • Investigate system issues, data discrepancies, and root causes; propose corrective actions.
  • Produce regular and ad hoc reports and insights for operational and programme decision-making.
  • Monitor system performance and risk flags; identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide specialist data and system advice.

Job Description

The Systems Analyst plays an important role in supporting the National Cervical Screening Programme by ensuring the National Cervical Screening Programme Register (NCSP-R) remains accurate, reliable, and fit for purpose. Working at the intersection of data, systems, and quality, you'll use analysis and reporting to identify trends, investigate issues, and support informed decision-making. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with complex information, and driving continuous improvements that contribute to better health outcomes for communities across Aotearoa.

  • Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of information held within the National Cervical Screening Programme Register (NCSP-R).
  • Conduct data validation, reconciliation, monitoring, and assurance activities to identify and resolve data quality issues.
  • Investigate system issues, data discrepancies, and anomalies, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Produce regular and ad hoc reports, analysis, and insights to support operational, clinical, and programme decision-making.
  • Monitor system performance, exception reports, and work queues to proactively identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to provide specialist advice on register processes, system functionality, and data integrity.

Qualifications

You're a detail-oriented and analytical professional who enjoys working with data, systems, and technology to solve complex problems. You have experience managing data within systems, investigating issues, and turning insights into practical improvements. Comfortable working independently and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, you're a clear communicator with a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement. You'll bring sound judgement, technical confidence, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and cultural safety. Most importantly, you'll have a genuine commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, health equity, and supporting positive outcomes for the diverse communities we serve across Aotearoa.

  • Proficiency in the usage of the Microsoft office products (Outlook, Excel and Word).
  • Experience with managing data within a data collection system, including writing queries, analysing data sets, and checking data integrity.
  • Experience managing and working IT system error queues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience investigating system issues, managing error queues, and identifying practical solutions.
  • Confident working with technology and able to quickly learn new systems, processes, and applications.
  • Technically capable, with the ability to administer, troubleshoot, and support multiple systems while maintaining data integrity and accuracy.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Highly organised and methodical, with strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate documentation and work outputs.
  • Able to work independently, use initiative, and manage competing priorities while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and sound judgement, with a commitment to confidentiality, cultural safety, and continuous learning.
  • Strong awareness and application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, with a commitment to health equity and supporting the diverse communities and priority populations of Aotearoa.
