Job summary

Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty, seeks an Operational Coordinator for Surgical Services. The role is full time, six months in Tauranga and Whakatāne Hospitals; open as a secondment for Health NZ staff.

Leading administrative planning for perioperative services, you will optimise theatre and outpatient resources, coordinating with clinical teams and administration to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of multidisciplinary medical terminology.
• Proficient with patient management software, spreadsheets and databases.
• Organised with high attention to detail and results oriented.
• Motivated, self-driven and solutions-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative strategic planning and oversight to perioperative services to optimise theatre, procedure room and outpatient resources.
• Support communication and coordination between multiple teams and external stakeholders.
• Oversee Administration Coordinators for Surgical and Anaesthesia services to ensure high standards of service delivery.
• Report to and support the Planned Care Services Manager.
