Job summary

Geneva Healthcare in Invercargill is seeking an empathetic, motivated Support Worker to join our in-home and community-based care team. You will work with clients to support their goals and independence.

Your duties include meal preparation, assisting with personal care, mobility and transfers, accompanying clients on outings, and helping with medication support as needed. A positive attitude and reliable transport are essential.

Qualifications

• A positive attitude and genuine desire to help others.
• Healthcare or caregiving experience preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication skills and reliable, flexible availability.
• Full NZ driver's license and reliable transport (for most roles).

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

As aSupport Worker, you’ll help clients achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives through practical and emotional support. Tasks may include:

• Meal preparation
• Community outings and integration

• Personal care (showering, toileting, etc.)
• Manual handling, and hoist transfers

What We’re Looking For:

• A positive attitude and a genuine desire to help others
• Previous healthcare or caregiving experience (preferred but not essential)
• Great communication skills and flexibility to work alternate weekends
• Healthcare qualifications (advantageous)
• Full NZ driver’s licence and reliable transport (most roles)
