Job summary

ATT in Queenstown is seeking a permanent Electrician to join a project-based team. The role covers installation, testing and fault finding across electrical systems for commercial and residential work.

You will run cable, terminate connections, wire up switchboards, and carry out testing to AS/NZS 3000. Reading plans and diagrams, using test instruments, and owning your jobs on site are key expectations.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified electrician with solid site experience.
• Must be able to read plans and wiring diagrams and work to AS/NZS 3000.
• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines on site.
• Provide direction to apprentices or subcontractors when required.

Responsibilities

A permanent Electrician's role has come up with our client on a project in Queenstown, offering steady hours and a rate that reflects your experience and ticket.

The role covers installation, testing and fault finding across electrical systems for a mix of commercial and residential work. You'll run cable, terminate connections, wire up switchboards, and carry out testing to AS/NZS 3000. Reading plans and wiring diagrams, using test instruments to trace and diagnose faults, and taking ownership of the jobs under your control will all be part of your day to day.

You must be a qualified electrician with solid site experience, comfortable managing your own workload and keeping jobs on track under deadline pressure. You may work alongside apprentices, trade assistants or subcontractors, providing direction where required.

What you'll need:

• Current NZ Electrical Registration and Practicing Licence
• Solid understanding of current codes of practice and electrical regulations
• Safe Working Practices Certificate
• First Aid Certificate
• Site Safe
• Full class 1 driver's licence

Knowledge, Skills & Ability:

• Must have a good understanding of the electrical regulations, current codes of practice (ASNZS 3000) and be able to work to these.

• Knowledge and understanding of the construction environment.

• Flexibility with working hours.

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
