Job summary

Mitre 10 MEGA Porirua is seeking nine part-time team members to join our store through the Summer Period, with roles commencing as soon as possible. You’ll focus on delivering exceptional customer service while learning product details and assisting with stock to keep shelves full and appealing.

Ideal candidates have a passion for customer service, strong communication, and a can-do attitude. Expect weekend work within our 7.00am–6.00pm hours, with shifts 15–30 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Great work ethic and a can-do attitude.
• Confident using a computer and learning new systems quickly.
• Strong attention to detail with flexibility to adapt.
• Physical capability for manual handling and standing for long periods.
• Good awareness of Health & Safety.
• Must be available throughout December 2026 and January 2027.

Responsibilities

• Deliver epic customer service to every customer, every time.
• Learn product details in your department to assist customers.
• Assist with stock management and keep shelves full and looking good.
• Support store operations across 7:00–18:00 Monday to Friday and weekends.

Being a TeamMember at Mitre 10 MEGA Porirua is all about being customer obsessed. Yourfocus will be on delivering epic customer service to every customer, everytime. Whenyou’renot busy with customers,you’llbelearning about the products in your department, and working with stock to makesure the shelves are full and looking good.

Allavailablepositionsincludeat least one weekendday,andarepart-time 15-30 hours per week.Hours will vary to coverour operating hours (7.00am - 6.00pm Monday to Friday, and 8.00am - 6.00pm onweekends and public holidays).

You’llalsoneed to be physically fit and able for these positions as you will spend a lotof time on your feet, up and down ladders, and heavy lifting with the team.

A Forkliftlicense for certain roles would be preferred but not essential!

Should you beshortlisted you must be available toparticipatein a groupinterviews. You will be taken through a short interview and be given somesimple tasks to complete in a group situation.
