Job summary

Silver Fern Farms is inviting student applicants to join our Finegand team for the upcoming holiday period. Roles on both day and night shifts are available, with training provided and opportunities to progress within the industry. We expect approximately 40 hours per week during peak production, plus overtime at enhanced rates.

Compensation starts at $28.82 per hour with overtime rates from $43 per hour. All necessary safety gear is supplied, and there is potential for continued employment

Qualifications

• No experience? No problem, on-the-job training is provided.
• Able to understand and follow health and safety, quality, and technical compliance requirements.
• Eligible to work in New Zealand.
• Must be 18 years or older to meet audit requirements.
• Able to pass pre-employment medical checks, criminal convictions check, and physical fitness requirements.

Responsibilities

• Join teams for holiday coverage on day and night shifts.
• Complete on-the-job training and earn pay with overtime opportunities.
• Shift times vary from 6am–4pm and 4pm–1am; expect 40 hours per week during peak season.

Job description

The team at Silver Fern Farms Finegand are offering a variety of opportunities for students to work during the holidays which will allow us to cover our busy holiday period.We are currently looking for team members to join ourteam with roles on both dayshift and nightshift to fill .

Work will commence in November and continue until you commence your studies in 2027. Or, if all goes well, you might choose to stay with us!

Ideally, we would love to hire people who would like to progress to a career within our industry when they finish their studies either in meat processing/leadership roles/quality control or auditing/health and safety (and so much more!)

Te mahi, our working arrangements:

• Complete your on-the-job training and earn a minimum $28.82/hr plus extras.
• Usually, 40 hours per week during peak production season, plus overtime opportunities.
• Minimum $43/hr production overtime rate.
• 8-hour shifts, day shifts and evening shifts times vary from 6am to 4pm, and 4pm to 1am.
• All work clothing and safety gear is provided.
