Job summary

Silver Fern Farms is seeking workers at the Finegand Processing Site in Balclutha. On-the-job training is provided with a minimum of $28.82/hr plus extras. Typically 40 hours per week during peak production, with overtime opportunities.

Shifts run 6am to 4pm or 4pm to 12:30am; safety gear and work clothing are provided. No experience is required as training is provided. You will work as part of a positive team, following health and safety, quality and compliance requirements.

Our Silver Fern Farms Finegand Processing Site in Balclutha employs 1200+ Team Members at the height of the season. Located 30 minutes south of Milton, an hour east of Gore, and an hour south of Dunedin, the site runs subsidised buses from Dunedin to Finegand (Balclutha) for most shifts.

Te Mahi, Our Working Arrangements

• Complete your on-the-job training and earn a minimum $28.82/hr plus extras.


• Usually, 40 hours per week during peak production season, plus overtime opportunities.


• Minimum $43/hr production overtime rate.


• 8-hour shifts, day shifts and afternoon shifts. Times vary from 6am to 4.00pm, and 4.00pm to 12.30am.


• All work clothing and safety gear is provided.
