Northpower is seeking an Electrical Fitter/Electrician based at the Rotorua Depot to construct and maintain electrical equipment for customer requirements within a substation environment. You will join an experienced team, report to the Maintenance Supervisor, and travel between substations as part of your duties.

The role requires reading schematics, working at heights, and a commitment to health and safety. Applicants must hold a NZ practicing licence and a current driver’s licence.

Formación

• Experience in 11kV to 220kV substation construction or maintenance desirable.
• Willingness to lone-work and travel between substations.
• Must be a registered electrician with current practicing licence.
• NZ driver’s licence.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out prescribed electrical work according to regulations.
• Perform callouts and maintenance as a lone worker, traveling between 28 regional substations.
• Inspect, fault find and defect-eliminate on HV and LV equipment.
• Accurate record-keeping and reporting of works undertaken.
• Identify potential issues and provide effective solutions to recover from setbacks.
• Conduct job scoping and planning with accuracy.
• Assist with repair and maintenance activities and identify potential problems and solutions.

About the Role:

As an Electrical Fitter/Electrician, you'll be able tocommunicate confidently and have a great eye for detail. You will be a part ofan experienced team to construct and maintain electrical equipment to customerrequirements in a substation environment. This role will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and will be based at our Rotorua Depot.

• Carry out prescribed electrical work according to regulations
• Need to perform callouts and maintenance duties as a lone worker, with atravel between 28 regional substations
• Inspecting, fault finding and defect elimination on HV and LV electricalequipment
• Accurate record-keeping and reporting of the works undertaken
• Identify potential issues and provide effective solutions to recover fromsetbacks
• Conduct job scoping and planning with accuracy
• Assist with repair and maintenance activities and identify potential problemsand solutions to recover from any setbacks

About You:

You will be an experienced candidate who is an ElectricalFitter, or an Electrician who has strong experience in the industrial orcommercial sectors and looking to become an Electrical Fitter. We are proud tohave a leadership team that offers guidance and encouragement to help all teammembers perform their best work.

To be successful in this role, you will also have some of the following skills:

• Experience in 11KV to 220KV Substation Construction or Maintenance isdesirable
• Preferably working at height competencies and experience heavy industry & construction type skill set
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics & diagrams
• Experience with isolating and switching HV & LV network systems
• Be a registered electrician with a current practicing licence
• Able to cope with the physical demands of the job and has a strong commitment to health and safety
• New Zealand driver's licence
