Ridgeview School seeks a teacher to lead structured literacy across our collaborative Year 1–6 school in semi-rural Paremoremo, Auckland.
In 2027, we expect three learning groups: Years 1–2, Years 3–4 and Years 5–6. Our largest group currently has 14 students.
The successful applicant will teach structured literacy across all three groups each morning, from 9:00am–12:35pm. They will plan and oversee our school-wide, evidence-informed programme; use assessment data to provide targeted teaching; model effective practice; facilitate collaborative planning; provide opportunities for teacher observation; and lead professional learning for staff and workshops for whānau.
A 0.2 Learning Support Coordinator allocation forms part of the position. Responsibilities include coordinating support for learners with additional needs; working with teachers, teacher aides, whānau and external agencies; supporting referrals and individual plans; monitoring interventions; and attending learning support meetings.
The successful applicant will work closely with the principal, contribute to school-wide improvement and manage the school when the principal is off-site. Leadership experience is an advantage, but applicants with leadership aspirations are encouraged.
We seek someone with structured literacy knowledge, training and experience who can build positive relationships and confidently teach and manage learners across Years 1–6.
