Job summary

Kirk Roberts Consulting in Christchurch is seeking an experienced Structural Technician to join our residential team. You will produce accurate Revit models and detailed structural drawings to support delivery across a range of high-end homes and developments.

You will collaborate with engineers and project teams, focusing on quality, accuracy and timely delivery, while developing your technical skills in a supportive, delivery‑driven environment.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced Structural Technician working within a structural engineering consultancy to join our residential team in Christchurch.

You'll be involved in the delivery of residential structural projects, using your experience to produce accurate Revit models and detailed structural documentation. You'll work closely with our structural engineers and project teams across a range of residential work, including high-end homes and residential developments.

This is a great opportunity for a technician who enjoys structural detailing, Revit modelling and being part of a collaborative, delivery-focused team.

About The Role

Working within our residential team, you will support the delivery of structural documentation across a wide range of projects, from standard residential builds through to architecturally designed bespoke homes, and alterations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing accurate Revit models and structural drawings
• Supporting the delivery of residential structural documentation
• Assisting with QA checks on designs
• Preparing and updating drawings for building consent and construction
• Liaising with engineers and internal design teams to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Supporting project workflow and coordination of project delivery

About You

• BEngTech, Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Strong Revit skills and confidence producing technical drawings
• Experience in residential drafting or structural documentation (essential)
• Attention to detail and organised approach to your work
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Good communication skills and a team collaboration
• A willingness to learn and develop your understanding of residential structural design
