Job summary

Babcock Australia & New Zealand is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join the Strategic Sourcing team in Devonport, Auckland on a 9-month fixed-term contract commencing January. The role focuses on RFx leadership, supplier negotiations, and category strategies to optimise cost and reduce risk.

You will work with stakeholders across the business, leveraging ERPs like IFS and your commercial acumen to shape procurement outcomes while navigating regulated Defence environments.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain/Procurement/Logistics, Finance, or Commerce.
• Eligibility to obtain (or current) NV1 security clearance.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic procurement/category management within complex, regulated settings (Defence or engineering services desirable).
• Proficiency with ERP systems (IFS or similar).

Responsibilities

• Lead RFx activities and supplier negotiations.
• Develop category strategies and drive value with stakeholders.
• Manage complex supplier relationships and risk mitigation.
• Support contract and category management and apply cost models.
• Use data and evidence-based analysis to influence decisions.
