Job summary

Placements24 seeks a detail-oriented Mine Planner for our Queenstown client to design and optimize production plans, ensuring efficient resource use and safety standards. You will coordinate with geologists, engineers, and operations to deliver short- and long-term plans, schedules, and drilling/blasting activities.

The role requires 5+ years in mine planning, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac, or MineSight. Open-pit and underground planning experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mine planning and production.
• Proficiency in mine planning software and data interpretation.
• Experience with open-pit or underground mine planning methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short-term and long-term mine production plans and schedules.
• Optimize mine designs, including pit layouts, haul roads, and waste dumps.
• Conduct geological modeling and reserve estimation to inform planning.
• Plan drilling, blasting, and material movement activities.
• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure effective implementation of mine plans.
• Monitor progress against plans and make necessary adjustments.
