Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist focusing on Direct Materials to join a Queenstown manufacturing operation. You will lead strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and ensure a stable, cost-effective supply chain to meet production demands.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of direct materials procurement in manufacturing, strong negotiation and analytics, and a Bachelor's in a related field.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of direct materials procurement experience in manufacturing.
• Proven ability to negotiate complex supply agreements and achieve cost savings.
• Strong knowledge of SCM, inventory control, and QA principles.
• Proficient with procurement software and ERP systems.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop sourcing strategies for direct materials to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
• Identify, vet, and onboard new suppliers; manage performance and compliance.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements for raw materials.
• Monitor inventory levels with production and logistics teams.
• Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to mitigate risks.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory standards.
