Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Purchasing Officer to join a Queenstown-based operations team. The role focuses on timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services, including PO management and supplier relations.

The candidate will track orders, ensure on-time deliveries, and uphold procurement policies within a local team. Requires 2-4 years in purchasing, ERP proficiency, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; a related tertiary qualification is an advantage.
• 2-4 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
• Proficiency in using procurement software or ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders efficiently.
• Source potential suppliers and obtain quotations for goods and services.
• Negotiate terms and prices with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
• Manage and maintain supplier records and performance data.
• Track order status and ensure on-time delivery of procured items.
• Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to purchasing, invoicing, or deliveries.
