Job summary

Rocklabs in Auckland is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join our team and ensure materials, components and services are purchased accurately and delivered on time. You will manage day-to-day purchasing, supplier communication and expediting, while supporting sourcing, supplier performance and continuous improvement initiatives across Planning, Engineering and Production.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain, ideally within manufacturing or engineering.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.

Responsibilities

• Convert material requirements into accurate and timely purchase orders.
• Manage open orders and proactively follow up suppliers to protect production and customer commitments.
• Maintain accurate purchase order, pricing, lead time and supplier information in our ERP system.
• Identify and escalate supply risks, shortages and supplier delays early.
• Support sourcing activities, supplier evaluations, RFQs, negotiations and cost reduction initiatives.
• Work closely with Planning, Engineering and Production when requirements or priorities change.
• Support purchasing for projects, equipment, spares and operational requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and help strengthen purchasing processes and supplier performance.
