Job summary

Financial Markets Authority (FMA) in New Zealand seeks an experienced Adviser, Communications - Internal & External to join our Communications and Delivery team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role covers internal and external communications across diverse channels, including social media, intranet, and podcasts.

You’ll deliver engaging content, support campaigns, and provide trusted communications advice while collaborating with passionate colleagues to advance our strategic priorities

Qualifications

• Sound writing and editorial experience in-house or agency (3+ years).
• Strong writing, editing and content creation skills.
• Experience producing content for different channels.
• Knowledge of social media technologies, trends and engagement.
• Experience in monitoring, measurement and evaluation of social channels.
• Familiarity with LinkedIn, Facebook, X and other paid/marketing channels.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and reasoning skills.
• Excellent prioritisation, time management and organisation.
• Ability to establish credibility and build trust quickly.
• Self-management with diplomacy and influence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design software Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
• Experience in graphic design, photography, video or podcast content.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow the FMA's social media channels and online communities with engaging, audience-focused content.
• Create high-quality written, visual and multimedia content for internal and external audiences.
• Support delivery and promotion of the FMA's podcast programmes.
• Update internal channels and intranet with current content.
• Lead graphic design work and create visual assets for digital and print channels.
• Monitor, measure and evaluate social media performance to drive improvements.
• Support planning and delivery of communications campaigns and initiatives.
• Provide trusted communications advice across the organisation.
