Job summary

NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is seeking an Executive Advisor to act as a trusted strategic partner to the Regulatory GGM/Director Land Transport. The role sits at the centre of executive leadership, governance, strategic planning and organisational performance, providing insight, challenge and high-quality advice across a complex portfolio.

You will influence executive decision-making, support delivery of NZTA priorities, and coordinate inputs from boards and ministers.

Qualifications

• Experience providing high-quality strategic advice to senior leaders in a large organisation.
• Strong analytical thinking to translate insights into actions.
• Proven ability to influence across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Experience supporting governance, planning, and performance initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic insight and trusted advice to Regulatory GGM/Director Land Transport and leadership.
• Support the delivery of Regulatory strategy and NZTA priorities.
• Identify and manage risks, issues and opportunities proactively.
• Coordinate inputs from Board, ELT, committees and ministerial processes.
• Support strategy development, business planning and major initiatives.
• Strengthen leadership, alignment and collaborative ways of working.
• Build relationships across NZTA, government agencies and stakeholders.
• Support internal communications and organisational change initiatives.
• Work with Finance on budgeting, forecasting and oversight.
• Champion Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice.
