New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) seeks an experienced Lead Advisor to provide strategic leadership and executive-level advice to the Head of Commercial Transport Regulation. You will quickly grasp complex issues, build sound strategic guidance, and support senior decision-making in a regulatory context.

Ideally, you bring a strong regulatory background, exceptional communication, and the credibility to influence at senior levels.

Qualifications

• Proven executive or senior advisory experience.
• Strong regulatory background preferred but not essential.
• Excellent written communication and governance-paper skills.
• Ability to translate complex issues into practical, actionable advice.

Responsabilités

• Provide high-quality strategic and executive advice to support senior leadership decisions.
• Lead planning, performance monitoring and continuous improvement across Commercial Transport Regulation.
• Develop business cases, governance papers and strategic reports for executives.
• Use data and evidence to identify risks, trends and opportunities and translate into recommendations.
• Lead complex strategic initiatives to improve regulatory performance and safety outcomes.
• Translate policy and government expectations into practical approaches.
• Represent senior leadership across internal, cross-agency and industry forums.
• Build relationships with government, industry and regulatory partners.
• Provide thought leadership on regulatory system design and improvement.
