Job summary

MBIE is seeking an Advisor, Entity Performance in Wellington to support governance and performance monitoring across Crown entities. You will analyse data, advise on performance and investments, and help manage the accountability cycle while building strong relationships with MBIE teams and monitored entities.

The role focuses on ensuring entities are well governed, financially sustainable, and aligned with government outcomes, with opportunities to influence policy and strategic direction.

Qualifications

• Must have strong commercial and financial literacy.
• Experience analyzing factors affecting organisational performance.
• Ability to interpret complex policy, performance, financial information and write clearly.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to quality, accuracy and detail.
• Experience using data analytics and drawing insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with a strong customer focus.
• Understanding of public policy processes and NZ public sector environment.
• Ability to build credible working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support Crown entity performance monitoring and governance processes.
• Analyse data and advise on performance, accountability and investments.
• Help manage the annual accountability cycle and assess financial/non-financial performance.
• Foster relationships across MBIE and monitored entities to connect policy, funding and delivery perspectives.
• Support senior leadership in setting and monitoring strategic outcomes and performance indicators.
