Job summary

MBIE in Wellington is seeking a Senior Advisor – Programme and Branch Services to provide trusted advice across governance, ministerial servicing, risk management and branch operations. The role focuses on coordinating responses and ensuring robust decision-making in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead planning and performance reporting, build relationships with MBIE and regulators, and support continuous improvement and ISO-aligned processes.

Qualifications

• Provide high-quality advice and coordinate responses to Official Information Act requests, Parliamentary Questions, Ministerial correspondence, and other information requests.
• Lead branch-wide planning, procurement, performance reporting and operational delivery using project and programme management approaches.
• Build and maintain effective relationships across MBIE, the Minister’s Office, regulators and stakeholders to support branch priorities.
• Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
• Knowledge of the machinery of government.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives that strengthen branch planning, performance reporting, monitoring and continuous improvement activities.
• Build and maintain effective relationships across MBIE, the Minister’s Office, other regulators and stakeholders to support successful delivery of branch priorities.
• Support the effective stewardship of regulatory systems by ensuring regulatory activities remain coordinated, risk-based and connected across government agencies.
• Provide high-quality advice and coordinate responses to Official Information Act requests, Parliamentary Questions, Ministerial correspondence, and other requests for information.
• Support governance and quality management functions across the branch, including continuous improvement activities and ISO-aligned processes.
