Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Accurately measure, count, weigh, pick, bundle, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch.
• Receive incoming goods, inspect for damage and traceability, and put away stock correctly.
• Operate forklift and crane equipment safely.
• Load and unload vehicles following safe practices.
• Use computer systems for order processing, stock lookups, and documentation.
• Check orders before dispatch and package goods to prevent damage.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area following health & safety procedures.
• Report equipment issues and participate in training programs.

This is a physical, hands-on warehouse role in our busy Palmerston North branch, focused on picking/packing steel orders, efficient stock management, receiving inwards goods, and safe handling of steel products.

What You'll Do

You'll play a vital role in keeping our warehouse operating smoothly by receiving, storing, picking, and dispatching steel products accurately and safely every day. The role involves a wide variety of tasks, including measuring, cutting, bundling, and preparing customer orders, as well as operating forklifts and overhead gantry cranes in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Accurately measure, count, weigh, pick, bundle, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch
• Receive incoming goods, inspect for damage and traceability, and put away stock correctly
• Operate forklift and crane equipment safely
• Load and unload vehicles following safe practices
• Use computer systems for order processing, stock lookups, and documentation
• Check orders before dispatch and package goods to prevent damage
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area while following all health & safety procedures
• Report equipment issues immediately and actively participate in training programs
