Job summary

Vulcan Steel Limited in Auckland is seeking a reliable warehouse team member to handle general duties (about 70%) and operate a steel saw (about 30%). This is a hands-on, full-time role based in East Tamaki, with a Monday to Friday schedule from 9:30am to 6pm and no weekend work.

You’ll pick and pack orders, receive goods, maintain inventory, keep the site safe and tidy, and support daily warehouse operations as part of a friendly, growing metals distributor.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehousing and stock picking.
• Saw operation experience is a plus but training is provided.
• Forklift licence is beneficial.
• Commitment to safety and accurate inventory.
• Basic computer and stock-tracking skills.

About the Role

Located in East Tamaki, we're looking for a reliable, hands-on team member to join our warehouse team at Vulcan. This role is primarily focused on general warehouse duties (around 70%), with some responsibility for operating a steel saw (around 30%).

Monday to Friday, 9.30am–6pm. No weekends.

What You Will Do

• - Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately
• - Receive inwards goods and maintain accurate inventory records
• - Operate programmable saws (mild steel) as needed – full training provided
• - Help keep the warehouse clean, safe, and well-organised
• - Support daily warehouse operations and work closely with the team

What You Will Bring

• - Experience in warehousing, stock picking, and general warehouse duties
• - Saw operation experience is a plus, but not essential – we'll train you
• - Forklift licence and familiarity with gantry cranes are beneficial
• - Physically fit and comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on role
• - Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to safety
• - Full Class 1 driver's licence (minimum)
• - Basic computer skills to use stock and job tracking systems
• - A valid work visa or the right to work in New Zealand
• - Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test
