Job summary

Vulcan in Christchurch is hiring for a hands-on Plate Processing role on a permanent night shift, Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm to 12:30am. You will load/unload trucks with a forklift, prepare steel orders, and move heavy materials across the site.

Qualifications

• Proven experience loading and unloading trucks using a forklift.
• Full New Zealand driver's licence (required to obtain Forklift F Endorsement and Operator Certificate).
• Experience working in a warehouse, dispatch, manufacturing, steel, or logistics environment.
• Physically fit and capable of safely handling the heavy nature of the role.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Overhead crane experience is highly regarded.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Currently residing in NZ or holding a valid work visa.
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test.

About the Role

Join our busy Plate Processing site in Christchurch and play a key role in ensuring customer orders are loaded, dispatched, and delivered safely and on time.

This is a hands-on role in a heavy industrial environment where you'll be operating forklifts, loading and unloading trucks, moving steel products, and preparing orders for dispatch. You'll work closely with production and transport teams to keep freight moving efficiently.

This is a permanent night shift position working Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm to 12:30am. Enjoy a three-day weekend every week!
