Job summary

VNS Express 2026 Limited in Ashburton is seeking a reliable Store Person to keep the dairy, food bar and takeaway store well-stocked, organised, and running smoothly. The role is full-time, with a minimum of 30 hours per week, across seven days.

You will manage stock deliveries, use the POS system to track inventory, label products, and assist with stocktakes while complying with health and safety standards. Weekend shifts are required.

Qualifications

• NZQF Level 2 qualification or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience in retail, warehouse or hospitality/food environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming stock deliveries, check goods against delivery dockets and invoices, and report any damage or discrepancies.
• Unload delivery vehicles, unpack cartons and other packaging, and sort and put away stock.
• Use the store's stock and point-of-sale system to check and record the location and quantity of stock items.
• Label stock with correct storage locations and pricing.
• Pack, weigh and seal goods, including dairy, food bar and takeaway items, ready for sale or storage.
• Safely lift, place and retrieve stock stored on shelving and in the stockroom and coolroom, including items stored at height.
• Pick and prepare stock and food/beverage orders in line with store procedures, checking items against picking lists.
• Assist with regular stocktakes of the store's stock.
• Use materials handling equipment such as pallet lifters, hand trucks and trolleys to move stock around the store, where required.

Education

NZQF Level 2 qualification or equivalent

1+ year relevant retail/warehouse/hospitality experience

A busy, well-established dairy, food bar and takeaway store located in Ashburton, trading seven days a week. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Store Person to help keep our store well-stocked, organised and running smoothly.

Minimum Skills, Qualifications and Experience

• A New Zealand Register (NZQF) Level 2 qualification, or an equivalent qualification; OR
• A minimum of one year's relevant work experience in a retail, warehouse, or hospitality/food environment.

Key Terms and Conditions
Employment type: Full-time, permanent
Hours of work: A minimum of 30 guaranteed hours per week, rostered across the store's trading days (Monday to Sunday). The store trades from 5.00am to 6.00pm, 7 days a week, and this role requires weekend(Saturday and Sunday) work as part of the roster.
Pay rate: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience
