Job summary

TrackerRMS, Inc. in Wellington is seeking an experienced Steel Detailer to join a unique group of construction & design companies.

The role focuses on producing detailed Tekla drawings for manufacturing and site installation, reviewing documentation, and generating material lists and procurement data. You will collaborate with Project Managers, engineers and workshop teams to ensure designs are practical, accurate and deliverable, resolving issues early in the process.

Qualifications

• Have 6+ years experience as a Steel Detailer.
• Strong Tekla Software skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, architectural plans & specifications.
• Sound understanding of structural steel detailing, fabrication and erection processes.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to identify and resolve design issues before they reach the workshop or site.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed drawings using Tekla that meet client requirements and support manufacturing and site installation, including drawing revisions, design changes and/or project updates
• Review contract documentation ensuring that the plans, specifications and pricing provide a comprehensive scope of the required building
• Prepare accurate material lists, take-offs and procurement information for purchasing and fabrication.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams (Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, engineers and workshop teams) and clients to ensure designs are practical, accurate and deliverable as well as to resolve any issues early in the process.
• Create accurate quotes and supporting documentation to meet client requirements in agreed timeframe
