Job summary

AWF New Zealand seeks an Electronics Assembler/Assembly Technician for a fixed-term 3-6 month assignment in Onehunga. The role involves windings of HTS magnet coils and precision assembly in a research and development setting supporting space technology projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in precision mechanical/electrical/electronic/electromechanical assembly.
• Ability to perform coil winding, soldering and fine assembly work.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Wind high-temperature superconducting magnet coils to exact specs with precision.
• Assemble complex electromechanical hardware and superconducting components.
• Perform manual soldering, bonding, masking and fine assembly on delicate parts.
• Conduct quality inspections, functional testing and fault troubleshooting.
• Prepare materials, clean components, document production activities in a lab/cryogenic setting.
