Job summary

Current Generation is seeking a hands-on Solar installer in Nelson to support safe mounting of solar panels, assemble hardware, run cables, and keep sites clean. You’ll be a key part of the crew, contributing wherever needed to get the job done right.

Full safety training is provided and you must be comfortable working at heights outdoors in all weather. This entry point into solar work requires a practical, reliable mindset and a current full driver’s licence with willingness to travel

Qualifications

• 1+ years' trade or site experience (solar experience an advantage, but not essential).
• Good physical fitness and confidence with tools and heights.
• Willingness to muck in across tasks to support the installation team.
• Current full driver's licence - regional travel and overnight stays (1-4 nights per month).
• Strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Reliability, teamwork, and eagerness to learn new skills.

Solar Installer - Nelson

We're on the lookout for a hands-on Solar installer to join our installation team.

This role is to help with the safe mounting of solar panels, assembling hardware, running cables, keeping jobs running smoothly, and making sure sites are clean and tidy. You'll be an important part of the crew, contributing wherever needed to get the job done right.

You'll need to be comfortable working at heights and outdoors in all kinds of weather. Full safety training is provided.

Note this is not an electrician role and it is not intended to be a pathway for individuals looking for electrical apprenticeships or to work predominantly on the electrical side.

About You

We're looking for someone practical, reliable, and keen to learn. You'll fit right in if you've got:

• 1+ years' trade or site experience (solar experience an advantage, but not essential).

• A willingness to muck in across a variety of tasks to support the installation team.
• A current full driver's licence - regional travel and be prepared to have to stay away overnight (typically 1-4 nights per month).
