We're also keen to hear from experience electricians with job management or leadership experience, as this could be valuable as our team continues to grow.

You'll be working across a mix of residential and commercial solar and battery projects around Nelson and Tasman.

You'll be involved in:

  • Solar and battery installations

  • Residential and commercial projects

  • Roof and ground mounted solar systems

  • Managing the electrical side of installations alongside our solar installers

  • Working directly with customers on site

We care about doing things properly. We're looking for someone who takes the same approach.

Who we're looking for

You'll need to be a NZ Registered Electrician with a current practising licence and be comfortable working at heights.

Solar experience is a big advantage, but we're also interested in hearing from experienced electricians who want to move into the solar and battery industry.

More importantly, we're looking for someone who:

  • Produces quality work

  • Can work independently and solve problems

  • Gets on well with customers and the rest of the team

  • Takes ownership of their jobs

  • Is physically fit and comfortable working on roofs

  • Has an interest in solar, batteries and renewable technology

If you've got experience running jobs or leading a team, definitely tell us. We're looking ahead and there is room for the right person to take on more responsibility.

What you'll get

$42–$47 per hour depending on experience

Plus:

  • Company vehicle

  • Tool allowance

  • Mobile phone

  • Your birthday off

  • Additional long service leave of one day per year, up to five days

  • A good, close knit Nelson team

  • Variety across residential and commercial projects

  • Opportunity to develop further in solar and battery technology

  • Genuine progression for someone who wants to lead people and projects

Think Solar operates across Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin, Queenstown and Wanaka. Solar and battery storage is growing quickly, and so are we.

This is a full time position of 42.5 hours per week.
